Shri Ram Chandra Mission (India) was established in the year 1945 by His Holiness Shri Ram Chandraji Maharaj of Shahjahanpur, (U.P.), who is affectionately
known as 'Babuji'. The Mission is a Guru Dakshina from Babuji, in loving
memory of His Master, Samarth Guru Mahatma Shri Ram Chandraji Maharaj of
Fatehgarh, (U.P.), who is affectionately known as 'Lalaji'.
The Mission was registered as per the laws of the land in the year 1945.
The Articles of Association lay down the following objectives:
To educate and propagate amongst the masses the art and science of Yoga,
made to suit present day conditions and needs.
To promote the feelings of mutual love and universal brotherhood,
irrespective of any distinction of caste, creed, color, etc.
To conduct research in the field of Yoga and establish Research Institutes
for that purpose.
To encourage research in Yoga, including the granting of assistance to
persons interested in carrying out this work.
Thanks to the loving care endowed by the Founder President, the Mission
has grown far and wide over the years. The Mission has several hundred
centers in India and numerous countries abroad. The training is imparted
by the President of the Mission and more than a thousand trainers
called preceptors who are spread throughout the world.
His Holiness Mahatma Shri Ram Chandraji Maharaj of Shahjahanpur, U.P.,
attained Mahasamadhi on the 19th of April, 1983. He has left behind His
worthy disciple, Shri Parthasarathi Rajagopalachari of Chennai, as His
successor, Spiritual Representative and President of Shri Ram Chandra Mission.
