Shri Ram Chandra Mission (India) was established in the year 1945 by His Holiness Shri Ram Chandraji Maharaj of Shahjahanpur, (U.P.), who is affectionately known as 'Babuji'. The Mission is a Guru Dakshina from Babuji, in loving memory of His Master, Samarth Guru Mahatma Shri Ram Chandraji Maharaj of Fatehgarh, (U.P.), who is affectionately known as 'Lalaji'.

The Mission was registered as per the laws of the land in the year 1945. The Articles of Association lay down the following objectives:
Thanks to the loving care endowed by the Founder President, the Mission has grown far and wide over the years. The Mission has several hundred centers in India and numerous countries abroad. The training is imparted by the President of the Mission and more than a thousand trainers called preceptors who are spread throughout the world.

His Holiness Mahatma Shri Ram Chandraji Maharaj of Shahjahanpur, U.P., attained Mahasamadhi on the 19th of April, 1983. He has left behind His worthy disciple, Shri Parthasarathi Rajagopalachari of Chennai, as His successor, Spiritual Representative and President of Shri Ram Chandra Mission.
